Braving Africa Across Mountains and Seas, Forging Overseas Dreams Through Hardships
07 May,2026
To expand the overseas infrastructure market and accelerate international layout, in November 2025, Company Chairman Wen Zhe led a team on a market inspection tour to Zambia. The team investigated local infrastructure development and dynamic compaction market demands, officially launching the layout of dynamic compaction business in Africa, and secured a project contract relying on superior technology and equipment strength.
After the inspection, the company immediately launched preparatory work. In December 2025, led by Yang Guanjun, Guo Xiujun and Feng Jun from the Production Department, two sets of dynamic compaction equipment underwent comprehensive maintenance, overhaul, rust removal and painting. Full sets of fittings and wearing parts were fully equipped. Given Zambia’s weak industrial foundation, material shortage and lack of supporting maintenance channels, the equipment was meticulously disassembled, sorted and packed. All customs declaration and shipping procedures were completed in standard order. After three months of ocean transportation, the equipment arrived at Durban Port of South Africa at the end of March 2026.
Wang Shicheng, Assistant to the Chairman, took full charge of customs clearance, agency coordination and cross-border land transportation. Hindered by language and cultural differences, unfamiliar local customs clearance policies and complicated road conditions, the transportation encountered bumpy roads, muddy pavements on rainy days, vehicle breakdowns and communication interruptions. After two months of arduous transit, the first batch of equipment safely reached the construction site, with the remaining goods arriving as scheduled after a delay. The company sincerely appreciates the strong support and resource coordination provided by the project owner during the preparation period.
On April 15, 2026, the company selected 10 key employees to go to the Zambia project site in two batches. The first team of four staff traveled via Beijing, Dubai and Ethiopia after a 30-hour international journey. Upon their arrival, Wang Shicheng received the team and arranged accommodation and meals, before heading to the construction site overnight. The unfamiliar natural environment, harsh living conditions and wild terrain posed great challenges to the staff.
After arriving at the project department, the staff joined colleagues from the general contractor smoothly, who provided strong support in accommodation, daily supplies and office arrangements. The project site features high temperature, simple container accommodation without air conditioning, shortage of living and construction materials, inconvenient transportation and potential safety hazards from wild creatures. Uniting as one, all staff overcame difficulties in living supplies and transportation with the support of the owner and general contractor, solidly completing all pre-opening preparations.
From overseas market research, domestic equipment maintenance and shipping, to cross-border transportation and staff stationing, the preliminary work of the Zambia dynamic compaction project has gone through numerous challenges. With dedication and teamwork, all employees completed all pre-opening preparations, and the project officially commenced on May 4, 2026.
Going forward, all staff will uphold the spirit of diligence and perseverance, strictly control construction schedule, quality and safety, and advance project construction with high standards and efficiency. The company will repay the trust of the owner and general contractor with excellent construction quality, fully demonstrate its comprehensive strength and sense of responsibility in overseas engineering, and strive for new achievements in overseas infrastructure development.
