Through Winter, Heat, and Overseas Missions: Always Present — A Profile of Veteran Wen Jinsuo

I have known Manager Wen for many years, and his dedication and responsibility are truly admirable.
In December 2015, during the bitterly cold mid-winter at the 500kV Substation Project in Shuozhou, Shanxi, he operated the dynamic compaction machine on icy slopes. Despite the hard frozen ground, no braking system on the equipment, and repeated re-freezing of the soil, he completed the construction work before the Spring Festival with guaranteed quality and quantity.

In July 2017, amid extreme heat at the Tongren Project in Guizhou, the full-compaction hammer broke suddenly. He gave up his rest, selected materials and repaired the equipment overnight to keep the project on schedule.

In January 2019, during the critical test compaction period before the Spring Festival at the Qingzhen Project in Guiyang, the new machine’s diesel system broke down with no after-sales support available. He provided remote guidance and repaired the system independently, ensuring the task was completed smoothly.

In July 2024, at the Chifeng Project in Inner Mongolia, he was transferred to logistics support and took good care of the team. Overworked for a long time, he was hospitalized due to a sudden stone attack, yet remained concerned about the work.

At the end of last year, as one of the first members to go to the Uzbekistan overseas project, he overcame language, institutional and cultural differences, successfully completing company registration, equipment customs clearance and formalities, saving valuable time for project commencement. Even in charge of logistics, he still took the initiative to repair equipment whenever problems arose, asking for nothing in return.

He once led a team to carry out foundation dynamic compaction work for the Lishui Airport, which opened to traffic in 2025. From operator to key project member, and then to an overseas pioneer, Manager Wen has embodied perseverance and responsibility in an ordinary post, and has become an indispensable “pillar of confidence” for the team.
