Our pride~Cambodia National Stadium

    On the evening of May 5th at 6:30 pm, the 32nd Southeast Asian Games grandly opened at the National Stadium in Cambodia, with Prime Minister Hun Sen presiding over the opening ceremony. Looking at this grand scene, I can't help but recall the past of our participation in the Cambodia National Stadium compaction project on JIN BAODAO in 2017.
    After the 2017 Spring Festival, I learned that the Chinese government's aid project for the construction of the Cambodian National Stadium had been launched, with the foundation treatment using dynamic compaction technology. On April 10th, I flew to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to survey the site with Shen Yanwei from Jinbaodao. On April 12th, I returned to China and reported to the chief designer of China Zhongyuan International Engineering Company on the suitability of the site for dynamic compaction. On June 1st, we won the bid for the dynamic compaction project in Tianjin, which was contracted by China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau International Engineering Company. On June 30th, we braved the heat and organized two Hangzhou 5000 equipment to enter the site from the Seven Star Sea Base in Cambodia's Kaoh Kong Province. On July 8th, after discussing the plan, the trial compaction plan was determined, and three trial compaction areas were simultaneously hammered. On August 21st, the trial compaction results were released, and the engineering compaction plan was officially determined. The engineering compaction was officially started. On October 29th, after 70 days of construction, the dynamic compaction project was successfully completed.
    Throughout the construction process, I traveled back and forth to Cambodia twice and worked with China Construction Eighth Engineering Division to solve the problem of water level fluctuations in sandy terrain, ensuring construction quality. Our employees braved the rain to resist heat, withstand insect bites, and worked day and night to ensure the construction progress. Six years have flown by, and now a modern sports stadium stands tall in the once barren land. I heard six years ago that this stadium was built for the Southeast Asian Games on May 5, 2023. Now, the sports meet is held as scheduled, and the opening ceremony is presented brilliantly on the venue we participated in the construction of. We are extremely excited and proud. The epidemic has not been able to travel to Cambodia for three years. Last night, at the opening of the Southeast Asia Games, WHO also announced the end of the COVID-19 epidemic, which was a double blessing. I am ready to go and plan to visit Cambodia in the near summer, to see the ever-changing Cambodia and once again step onto the Cambodian National Stadium where we once sweated.
