Dynamic Compaction Journey: The Song of Struggle in the Cold Land of Baotou
11 Apr,2025
At a leisurely moment, I received an urgent order from the company to immediately rush to Baotou to participate in the dynamic compaction project. This news broke the calm, and I quickly switched to a busy work state.
After arriving in Baotou with colleagues, a bone chilling chill hit us, with local temperatures dropping as low as minus ten degrees Celsius or even lower. But the owners are pressing for it, the project cycle is tight, and all tasks are urgent. The data and dynamic compaction records are urgently needed, and the owner's requirements are strict and error free.
The severe cold brings great obstacles to work. Mechanical operation is difficult, and personnel are slow to move. Due to the tight schedule, construction can only be carried out at night. The cold wind howled on site, the frozen soil layer was thick, and the construction workers struggled to move forward. The recorders' pens were frozen hard to write. Excavator operations often require the coordination of cannons and hammers due to the slow progress of thick frozen soil layers. The strict safety regulations for property owners have led to a certain degree of delay in the construction period.
Faced with difficulties, we did not retreat. Leaders coordinate and coordinate, equipment support personnel and technicians rotate and provide suggestions, and logistics personnel ensure material supply. Everyone worked together to find a response strategy: maintenance personnel increased equipment inspection and maintenance, and preheated in advance; Reasonably allocate the operation time of hammers and excavators; Carefully schedule personnel to take turns resting.Under strict adherence to safety regulations, we are racing against time to rectify and catch up with the project schedule. Although the task is arduous, no one complains and silently sticks to it. In the end, we successfully survived the difficult period, completed the work output satisfactorily, and achieved significant results in rectification.
The experience of dynamic compaction in Baotou was a profound experience for me. Let me experience the powerful power of teamwork and understand that as long as I have a firm belief, I can overcome difficulties and obstacles. In my future work, I will continue to forge ahead with this resilience and unity.
