Striving for Overseas Expansion, Building Dreams in New Journeys

 2024 was a pivotal year for the company's overseas expansion strategy, and I was fortunate to participate in the construction project of BYD's automobile manufacturing plant in Cambodia. This marked my first foray into overseas projects in my career, an experience akin to an unknown adventure filled with both challenges and profound significance.

In December of last year, upon my initial arrival in Cambodia, the sweltering climate gave me a profound "welcome." The humid air felt like an invisible shackle, making it arduous for a newcomer like me. However, I did not let the harsh environment defeat me; instead, I swiftly adjusted and dedicated myself fully to the project's construction.  

During the construction phase, I encountered unprecedented challenges. Language barriers and vast cultural differences often led to misunderstandings of even the simplest construction instructions, severely hindering progress and leaving me overwhelmed. Recognizing that retreat was not an option, I used translation software to facilitate communication and spent my free time learning basic Khmer—from greetings to construction-specific terminology—accumulating knowledge bit by bit. Meanwhile, I actively immersed myself in local culture, studied work habits and customs, respected differences, and gradually earned the trust and cooperation of local workers, enabling the construction to proceed smoothly.  

However, new technical hurdles soon emerged. The local soil was soft, and the conventional foundation construction plan used in China could not meet the required bearing capacity standards. My colleagues and I stayed on-site day and night, consulting extensive documentation and conducting repeated trials based on local conditions. Ultimately, we optimized the foundation reinforcement process, successfully overcoming the challenge and ensuring key project milestones were met on schedule.  

The successful completion of the BYD project did not slow my pace. Just after the Spring Festival this year, I returned to Cambodia to engage in the construction of the Zhejiang Special Economic Zone Park. Facing a shortage of Chinese workers and intense manpower constraints, I volunteered to participate in unit construction. While adhering to my role as a technician to strictly control construction technical standards, I also seized opportunities to learn new skills from driver masters.  

Looking back, I have grown through numerous challenges, significantly enhancing my professional skills, cross-cultural communication abilities, and problem-solving capabilities in complex scenarios. I understand that only through continuous effort can I go further in the future.  

As 2025 is the company's "Year of Endeavor," I will commit to my work with greater enthusiasm and determination, continuously refining my professional knowledge, deeply studying local markets and policies, and strengthening teamwork by sharing experiences and progressing alongside colleagues. I am confident that through our collective efforts, we will make substantial contributions to the construction of the Zhejiang Special Economic Zone Park and help the company achieve greater breakthroughs in overseas markets.
