Tengxian Dynamic Compaction: A Solid Road Paved with Sweat

27 May,2025

This year, the construction team has once again arrived in Tengxian, Guangxi, embarking on a new journey of dynamic compaction engineering. This land carries the unfinished mission of last year - due to the growth of small saplings in the greening area, some areas were unable to be compacted, and this year it finally has the conditions for comprehensive construction.

In April in Tengxian, Guangxi, the scorching heat became the first "roadblock". At the beginning of the month, the temperature soared to 35-6 degrees Celsius: during the day, the scorching sun turned the construction site into a huge oven, making the construction equipment hot and difficult to touch. The heat in the air was scorching, and sweat evaporated as soon as it seeped out, leaving salt stains on clothes; At night, the humid air shrouds the site like a thick and sticky curtain, mosquitoes and insects bite in groups, and workers wear old work clothes, sweating profusely in the hot and humid weather. Every task is particularly heavy.

Although the rainfall this year has decreased compared to previous years, the power of the "rainy season" cannot be underestimated. The occasional rainstorm, accompanied by a gust of wind, hit the construction site like a shell, blowing down protective facilities and washing down the drainage system, adding additional obstacles to the construction. To cope with high temperatures, Huoxiang Zhengqi Water has become a necessary item for workers. However, some workers still take a short break after suffering from heatstroke and return to their posts.

The complexity of the construction site far exceeds expectations: the site is densely covered with stones and the terrain is undulating, resembling a chaotic rocky hill. Before operating the compactor, the excavator needs to be leveled first, especially at the junction of the excavation area and the backfill area, where there is a huge geological difference - heavy hammers falling from hard areas will bounce violently and even be overturned; Soft areas can cause soil splashing, posing a safety hazard. During the rainy season, water accumulation further forms puddles in low-lying areas, making it difficult for equipment to move, significantly reducing the efficiency of dynamic compaction, and causing delays in project progress.

Compared to the challenges of weather and site, the urgency of the project schedule is more pressing. The team needs to complete the full workload within a limited time, and the existing personnel can only maintain basic operations, but need to simultaneously advance multi line tasks. As a technician, I also serve as a surveyor, coordinating and running between various processes. The tasks of all staff are interrelated and the work intensity is extremely high, but they always cooperate with a rigorous and focused attitude to ensure that each construction node is pushed forward on time. Masters such as Liang Yinghui and Liu Xiliang took the initiative to use their rest time to maintain equipment and ensure operation. Under their tired faces, there were firm eyes - they knew that the normal operation of machinery was the key to the progress of the project.

Faced with multiple challenges, the team has developed a "rainy day rush" strategy: every time it rains, they seize the opportunity to complete tasks that are not affected by weather. Although it cannot completely solve the pressure of project schedule, it significantly shortens the progress gap. During a month of continuous efforts, team members collaborated more seamlessly, supporting each other to overcome one difficulty after another, and ultimately completed the green zone compaction work on schedule. When the last hammer fell, looking at the flat and solid land, a sense of achievement rose in everyone's heart - this month, they overcame multiple tests of high temperature, complex geology, and project pressure with tenacious perseverance and unity spirit.

This experience is not only a successful conclusion to a project, but also a vivid testament to team spirit. Faced with harsh environments, resource constraints, and urgent tasks, they anchor themselves with firm beliefs, pour sweat into a solid path, and turn challenges into medals for moving forward. This memory, which embodies resilience and collaboration, will eventually become a powerful driving force for them to move forward courageously and achieve new success on their future journey.
