Revisiting Leshan: Past Glories, New Ambitions

Four years on, we returned to Leshan, and the land beneath our feet exuded the warmth of a reunion with an old friend.

Rewind the clock to the sweltering summer of 2021. Back then, the Leshan Project was nothing short of a hot potato. The initial construction hit snags repeatedly, and several contracting teams pulled out one after another. The client, taking a leap of faith, entrusted this formidable task to us.
That year, Leshan seemed spellbound by rain—six consecutive rainy days a week were the norm, with sunshine a rare treat. The muddy construction site was barely accessible; earthwork supply was intermittent, and the working face could not be opened for a long time. Every morning, we were greeted with a host of pressing problems waiting to be solved.

Yet we, as engineering professionals, never shied away from tackling tough challenges. To seize every construction window after rainfall, our team would meticulously cover the working face with tarpaulins at the end of each workday, ensuring we could resume work swiftly once the rain stopped. We cherished every single minute: coordinating with all parties to expedite earthwork transportation, optimizing construction plans to free up more working space. Our team pulled countless all-nighters, and ultimately turned the "impossible" into a successful project delivery. In the end, the client’s remark—"We made the right choice in hiring you"—was the most reassuring accolade we could have asked for that year.

Now, revisiting this familiar ground, it is the client’s trust that has brought us back here to conduct evaluation and survey for the new project. As we walked through the construction site where we once fought tooth and nail, a flood of emotions welled up in our hearts. Engineering professionals travel far and wide, and our success never hinges on luck. It relies on our resilience to blaze trails through mountains and build bridges over rivers, and our commitment to pursuing excellence in every single project.

A new journey has begun. We look forward to adding new achievements to this familiar land, living up to every bit of trust bestowed upon us, and honoring the days and nights we once strived together side by side!
